When it gets to this time of the year, I become very reflective. The festive season is naturally that time of year when you remember the people who are no longer with you, and while this can be sad, it’s something that I like to embrace because it does bring back the best of memories. It is also the time to think about the progress of your business or career and make plans for the future.

One of the most popular Christmas film is A Christmas Carol, I appreciate the message it gives about Christmas and being kind to those around you. Since last week I’ve been wondering which of the spirits that visits Scrooge I’d like to visit me too, and I’ve settled on the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come.

I would love nothing more than to go into the future on Christmas day, ten years from now. Will I be married? How many kids will I have? Where will I be living? What will Christmas be like in my home? So many questions to ask and find answers too. I would visit the past, but I strongly believe that everything I am now is because of the experiences of my past.

When I start thinking about the possibility of what my life could be in the future, it reinforces my determination that when I have a family, at Christmas we will all be together, and I’ll be able to give my children amazing Christmases like the ones I remember from when I was little! I want to bake Christmas desserts, travel around the world and teach them what the true meaning of Christmas is.

I’m determined to make this year wonderful as it will signify the beginning of my tomorrow (too serious?). It all starts with my trip to sunny Nigeria, making memories and eating tasty food.

If you could visit any Christmas, past or future, which one would you choose? Let me know in the comments below or on Instagram.
